Nathan Medd is Managing Producer for Electric Company, with whom he has produced three events for the Vancouver 2010 Cultural Olympiad (Palace Grand, HIVE, and Tear the Curtain!), productions of Studies in Motion at the Yukon Arts Centre, Alberta Theatre Projects, the Vancouver Playhouse, Toronto's Canadian Stage, Edmonton's Citadel Theatre, and Montreal's Festival Transameriques, and productions of the 'live-film' No Exit at San Francisco's American Conservatory Theater, the High Performance Rodeo through Theatre Calgary and One Yellow Rabbit, and Nightwood Theatre at the Buddies in Bad Times space in Toronto. Nathan came to Electric Company from Victoria where he was Coordinator of the BC Arts Council's theatre program. He has co-founded two thriving spaces for independent performing arts: Victoria’s 200-seat Metro Studio in 2005 with Intrepid Theatre, and the Progress Lab 1422 studio in East Vancouver in 2009. Nathan has served twice as adjudicator for Theatre BC's National Playwrighting Competition, and has participated in a variety of artistic and administrative capacities with organizations such as the Victoria Symphony, Viva Musica Kelowna, and the Association of BC Drama Educators. He is a graduate of the Theatre and English Departments at the University of Victoria.
