| Brothers at Toronto's Summerworks Festival |

In July Electric Company hosted Jeremy James and Philip McKee at PL1422 for part of their their creation of Brothers, a work inspired by Dostoetsky's The Brothers Karamazov. Now that work is being presented at Toronto's Summerworks Festival from August 5th to 14th.
About the Artists: Jeremy James was a member of Ariane Mnouchkine’s renowned theatre ensemble, Le Théâtre du Soleil, for seven years. He performed in the company’s collectively-devised theatre and film projects, Le Dernier Caravansérail and Les Éphémères, receiving notable public and critical acclaim for his work at major theatres and festivals internationally, including Avignon, New York, Melbourne, Vienna, Athens, Berlin, Buenos Aires, São Paulo, Berlin, Rome and Taipei. He trained with leading artists and master-teachers across Europe, including Monika Pagneux, Philippe Gaulier, Andrei Serban and founding members of theatre de complicite. He has received numerous awards, scholarships and residencies for his work in Australia and overseas. Philip McKee graduated from the National Theatre School Directing Program in 2009. He was in fact in the same class as Anita Rochon, recent collaborator with ECT in Community Dinner and recipient of the protege portion of Kim Collier's Siminovitch Prize. |
