Staying at home, staying distant has been challenging. We wanted to reach out to friends and an Electric supporters, from our homes to yours, to share a moment together during what could be lonely times.
Anywhere But Here was an incredible highpoint in Electric Company’s history where we gathered by the hundreds, night after night, to share an undeniable experience of live performance. It is almost unbelievable how much has changed in the short time since. Our hearts have broken watching our colleagues in the arts community cancel premieres, productions and tours, losing gigs and being denied audiences for their labours of love. And yet, for Electric Company and so many others, creation continues.
We have been working through this crisis – finding hope and inspiration inside new projects, uncovering our path forward in the new reality. We are more committed than ever to exploring, devising and pioneering work that will bring us together at the theatre again.
We closed Anywhere But Here just shy of our fundraising goal. With days left in our fiscal year, we are turning to you to help us continue moving forward. A contribution of just $25 will make a significant impact, and we need your support now more than ever. Even small donations allow us to continue to create and support incredible artists, whose livelihoods have been deeply impacted by the global crisis.
We hope you’re safe, and well. We look forward to gathering in person once again, sharing touching experiences, ideas, applause and ovations side by side. In the meantime, we hope this video will bring a smile to your face, and set your sites on the future.
See you soon,
The Electrics
The 20 for 2020 Campaign goal is to raise $20,000 for the development of new works from Electric Company Theatre. Any donation, large or small, will help propel us towards our goal, giving much needed work to our artist collaborators, ensuring we can gather again around something new.
During uncertain financial times, small regular donations can still have a huge impact, allowing us us to create with incredible artists, whose livelihoods have been deeply impacted by the global crisis. They help ensure we can share touching experiences, ideas, applause and ovations side by side in the future.
We’re looking for 20 monthly donors for the rest of 2020 (and beyond), to support the development of new creations for the stage that will bring us back together again.
For just $20 a month, you can play a pivotal role in bringing artists back to stages with brilliant and electric new visions. It’s like ordering a pizza for us, or taking our artists for coffee once a month.
Send us a one time e-transfer to give@electriccompanytheatre.com
Call us to donate at 604-253-4222. Our offices at Progress Lab have closed and we’re working from home – but we will call you back in short order.
