The last six weeks have not been easy. Our hearts have broken watching premieres, productions and tours get cancelled, artists lose gigs and be denied audiences for their labours of love.
We wanted to share a person to person moment, from our home to yours, in what might be lonely times out there. We hope these little video updates bring a smile to your face, and set your sights on the future.
We’re launching our 20 for 2020 Creation Campaign with a goal is to raise $20,000 for the development of new projects from Electric Company Theatre.
We have been working developing new projects through this crisis – finding hope and inspiration inside the creation process, uncovering our path forward in the new reality. We are more committed than ever to exploring, devising and pioneering electric works that will bring us together at the theatre again. Check out what we have been cooking up in the video below.
This #GivingTuesdayNow will you donate $20 to Electric Company Theatre?
Electric Company has become known for ambitious stage productions like Anywhere But Here, The Full Light of Day, Betroffenheit and Tear the Curtain!, that involve dozens of artists and thousands of audience members. The quality and craftsmanship of our productions take years to develop, oodles of love, sweat and tears, and a lot of money.
Last year Electric Company hired 86 Professional Artists in our shows, spending more than $400,000 on Artist Fees. We need your help to continue creating, making new shows and hiring artists during this time of austerity and crisis.
If you can give $5, $10, or $20 now, $20 a month – or more – please do.
Any donation, large or small, will help propel us towards our goal, giving much needed work to our artist collaborators, ensuring we can gather again around something new.
During uncertain financial times, small regular donations can still have a huge impact, allowing us us to create with incredible artists, whose livelihoods have been deeply impacted by the global crisis. They help ensure we can share touching experiences, ideas, applause and ovations side by side in the future.
We’re also looking for 20 monthly donors for the rest of 2020 (and beyond), to support the development of new creations for the stage that will bring us back together again.
For just $20 a month, you can play a pivotal role in bringing artists back to stages with brilliant and electric new visions. It’s like ordering a pizza for us, or taking our artists for coffee once a month.
Send us a one time e-transfer to give@electriccompanytheatre.com
Call us to donate at 604-253-4222. Our offices at Progress Lab have closed and we’re working from home – but we will call you back in short order.
Send us a cheque to 1422 William Street, Vancouver, BC, V5N 1T4
100% of all donations go into making art. Always.
