Kevin’s next play starts to take shape

Two cooks in the kitchen

Are there any more capable hands than the ones you’ve been collaborating with for almost 30 years?

Last month, Kevin and Jon were both in Vancouver continuing development of Kevin’s new play “Epigone” at our beloved home studio, Left of Main. They had a desk full of books, and there was a lot of paper and post-its on the walls, so it’s safe to say the work is cooking as they start to understand what ingredients and seasonings they’re working with.

Telling a story of contemporary grief through ancient mythology, “Epigone” is sure to be incredibly powerful when it premieres November 2026 in partnership with Heart of the City Festival.

This will be Kevin’s first ECT production since 2020’s “Reframed,” which was a Core Artist collaboration co-created by Kevin, Jon, Carmen, and Kim.

Since then, he’s been continuing his ongoing research and development into theatrical uses of Virtual Reality. How that might intersect with “Epigone” remains to be seen, but it’s sure to be gorgeous and groundbreaking. We look forward to sharing more about Kevin’s latest as the process unfolds.
