We are beyond thrilled to announce that Fire Never Dies: The Tina Modotti Project will premiere October 15-26, 2025 in the Historic Theatre in East Vancouver, presented by The Cultch as part of their 25/26 Season, in partnership with the Vancouver Latin American Cultural Centre (VLACC). 🔥🔥
Written and directed by award-winning ECT Core Artist Carmen Aguirre, Fire Never Dies conjures the extraordinary life of Tina Modotti—photographer, actor, revolutionary. Through image, movement, text, and music, this bold new work assembles a poetic and political portrait of a woman whose life defied the boundaries of art and activism.
Performed by a dynamic ensemble, Fire Never Dies is a contemporary reckoning with legacy, love, exile—and the body as a site of resistance. We can’t wait to welcome you into the world Carmen and her team have been creating.
